The California Preservation Foundation is governed by a Board of Trustees drawn from preservation professionals across the state.
Simin is a registered structural engineer and a principal with Forrell/Elsesser Engineers. She has 24 years of experience in the structural engineering field, including seismic retrofit of many historic buildings, including the San Francisco City Hall, and current work involving the Utah State Capitol. In addition to these notable projects, Simin has been involved in an advisory role for projects in Italy utilizing advanced seismic protection technologies. Simin is an active member of the Structural Engineers Association of Northern California, having served on its board and chairing several committees. She is a member of the Earthquake Engineering Research Institute and an Allied member of the American Institute of Architects. Simin graduated with a B.S. degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Azarabadegan in Tabriz, Iran, and received her M.S. degree in Structural Engineering from the University of Michigan.
