 emerging professionals\, and anyone interested in a career in preservation

 one-hour\, free lunchtime program will include a 10-15 minute presentation
  by a guest speaker in one of a number of preservation-related professions

 p of Groundwork Preservation\, LLC.About Our Guest SpeakerThis month\, we 
 welcome Principal Planner\,  Kelly Wong with the City &amp\; County of Sa
 n Francisco Planning Department where she currently manages the Code Enfor
 cement Team and works collaboratively with other City agencies\, property 
 owners\, and project consultants to bring properties back into compliance 
 with Planning Code. She also serves as the building materials technical ex
 pert on the Preservation Team.Kelly received her undergraduate degree in a
 rchitecture from UC Berkeley and her master’s in historic preservation w
 ith a concentration in architectural conservation from the University of P
 ennsylvania. She began her career at a private architecture firm in San Fr
 ancisco dedicated to the rehabilitation and conservation of public histori
 c buildings and sites. She has worked on projects including archaeological
  sites in the US and abroad including Taiwan\, Hong Kong\, Italy\, Bulgari
 a\, Turkey\, Peru\, Tunisia\, and Northern Sudan.Before joining the Planni
 ng Department\, she worked at the Getty Conservation Institute (GCI) in Lo
 s Angeles to work on the Earthen Architecture Initiative\, Seismic Retrofi
 tting Project (SRP)\, which focuses on the seismic upgrade of earthen stru
 ctures in Peru using advanced technologies coupled with traditional materi
 als and methodologies. Kelly facilitated the production of “model” con
 struction documents for use by the Peruvian Ministry of Culture. Prior to 
 the GCI\, Kelly was a Preservation Project Manager at The Presidio Trust\,
  a federal agency in San Francisco where she led the preservation efforts 
 and seismic rehabilitation of the Officers’ Club\, one of the oldest bui
 ldings in San Francisco. Kelly Wong brings an incredible breadth of exper
