Emerging Professional Mentorship Series – Architect, Public Historian and Cultural Resources Manager
Join the California Preservation Foundation for our Emergine Professionals Mentorship Series, a webinar program aimed at students, interns, graduates, and emerging professionals, with the goal of opening pathways for individuals new to preservation to network and learn.
The one-hour, free lunchtime program will include a 10-15 minute presentation by speaker, followed by Q&A with questions from CPF's Education Committee Co-Chairs and our audience.

About Our Guest Speaker
Rita Cofield is a cultural resource manager and neighborhood preservationist, joining the Getty Conservation Institute in 2022 to lead the African American Historic Places, Los Angeles project, which fosters innovation and collective community memory when it comes to caring for historic resources in African American neighborhoods throughout the city of Los Angeles.
Rita is passionate about finding ways to re-insert multiple perspectives into the larger narratives of our collective history. She was born, raised, and still lives connected to the Watts community — where she volunteers as the interim executive director for the Los Angeles-based cultural arts organization Friends At Mafundi — and received her BA in Architecture and Planning from Howard University and an advanced degree in Heritage Conservation from the University of Southern California. On the side, Rita stage-manages theatrical productions throughout the United States in order to sharpen her creative skills.
