Creating And Restoring Stained Glass For The 21st Century: Using the Past to Define the Future
As seen in his recently published book, Judson: Innovation in Stained Glass, fifth-generation president David Judson researched the company's undocumented 125-year history to help envision Judson Studios' current direction and plans for the future. While restoring and preserving stained glass makes up a good portion of the studio's projects, Judson continues developing new techniques and technologies to further innovation in the field. In this talk, David briefly reviews some of Judson's historical installations, previews recent and current restoration projects, and highlights collaborative projects pushing the medium in new directions.

About Our Speaker
David Judson is the president and owner of Judson Studios, the oldest family-run stained glass studio in America, founded in 1897. As the fifth generation Judson to operate the company, he has overseen hundreds of national and international projects since 1996. In 2015, David expanded the studio's operations to incorporate fused glass capabilities and acquired a glass kiln-forming company in 2020. He holds a bachelor's degree in Spanish literature and a master's degree in International Relations. David was president of the Stained Glass Association of America from 2017 to 2022 and is involved in various arts organizations. He frequently lectures on stained glass and recently published a book on the 125-year history of Judson Studios. David lives in Pasadena with his family.
