Emerging Professional Mentorship Series – Conservator
Join the California Preservation Foundation for our Emergine Professionals Mentorship Series, a webinar program aimed at students, interns, graduates, and emerging professionals, with the goal of opening pathways for individuals new to preservation to network and learn.
The one-hour, free lunchtime program will include a 10-15 minute presentation by speaker, followed by Q&A with questions from CPF's Education Committee Co-Chairs and our audience.

About Our Guest Speaker
Bianca García (she/her/ella) is an Associate Conservator of Paintings and Programs Manager at the Balboa Art Conservation Center (BACC), where she specializes in examining, analyzing, and treating a diverse range of paintings for museums, private collectors, and regional institutions. With a focus on expanding conservation knowledge, she also develops educational and capacity building programs to increase accessibility and inclusivity in the field.
Born and raised in Puerto Rico, Bianca holds an M.Sc. in Art Conservation with a specialization in Paintings Conservation from the Winterthur/University of Delaware Program (2016) and a B.A. in Art Conservation with a minor in Art History from the University of Delaware (2007). Her extensive experience includes internships at institutions such as the Cleveland Museum of Art, Museo Nacional Centro de Arte Reina Sofía, and the Museo de Arte de Puerto Rico, among others.
Bianca is dedicated to fostering diversity within the field, advocating for culturally inclusive practices and mentoring emerging conservation professionals. In addition to her role at BACC, Bianca is Program Manager of the Andrew W. Mellon Opportunity for Diversity in Conservation at the UCLA/Getty Program, where she co-hosts and instructs workshops, mentors students, and facilitates discussions on professional ethics and diversity in conservation. She is also a founding member and editor of Materia: Journal of Technical History, an open-access peer-reviewed digital journal focused on the material study of cultural heritage.
