The Reference Archivist supports Archives and Special Collections programs and operations, contributing towards the goals and objectives outlined in the GLBT Historical Society Strategic Plan. Reporting to the Director of the Dr. John P. De Cecco Archives and Special Collections (DASC), the Reference Archivist manages research appointments and reading room policy, responds to reference inquiries, administers requests for reproductions and permissions to publish, and facilitates outreach and education programs. They assist with collection management and oversee processing projects, including helping to supervise processing interns and volunteers and maintaining and expanding the archives digital collections. The Reference Archivist ensures that all archival programs strive for inclusion and diverse representation of LGBTQ history.
The GLBT Historical Society collects, preserves, exhibits and makes accessible to the public materials and knowledge to support and promote understanding of LGBTQ history, culture and arts in all their diversity. Founded in 1985, the society is recognized internationally as a leader in the field of LGBTQ public history. The GLBT Historical Society is a registered 501(c)3 educational nonprofit organization.
Pay Range (Annual): $46,000 – $60,000
