A closer look at twentieth century trends, innovations, and architects shows a much more complex story. From the growth of modern ideas, to the contributions of immigrants from the East and Europe, to the explosive suburbanization of mid-century, to the ways each half of the state identifies itself, this talk will explore what makes California architecture Californian.
