The 2024 Design Awards Event
We’re celebrating 15 award winning projects, as well as the Trustee’s Awards for Excellence and the President’s Awards at the historic Millennium Biltmore Hotel, Downtown Los Angeles, followed by a special social event with food and drinks in the stunning ballroom of the Biltmore Hotel. Tickets to the Awards Ceremony and the post-awards reception are $225 for members and $250 and available here (discounted to $175 if you’re attending our Annual Conference – combo packages available on our conference page)

Amy’s Kitchen
Amy’s Kitchen is one of fifteen winners honored with the 2024 Preservation Design Award. This project was a recipient in the Rehabilitation category. Award recipients are selected by a jury of top professionals in the fields of architecture, engineering, planning, and history, as well as renowned architecture critics and journalists. About Amy’s Kitchen
Amy’s Kitchen is a fiercely independent family-owned business founded in Petaluma in 1987. They make a broad range of delicious and convenient meals, snacks, and soups made with organic and vegetarian ingredients. The project is an adaptive reuse of a historic building, updating an old department store and transforming it into a new HQ for Amy’s. The home concept was reinforced throughout with more public entertainment and collaborative space activating the ground floor and street level and more private workspace on the upper floors with visual connection throughout. The full seismic retrofit and mezzanine tie the existing fabric of the building together and provides additional floor area, and the addition of new windows brings natural light to all corners of the upper levels. The project serves as a sustainable model through adaptive reuse, energy-efficiency strategies, a commitment to source 100% renewable off-site energy, and low-impact materials.
